If you were to compose a poem about one aspect of your life, which topic would it fall into and what would your overall life's message be?

Prompt: If I were to write a poem about my life it would be about adventure. My message would be to not take for granted that we have a lot of the time. I would write about the adventures I have had in my life like going to Alaska, Greece and Italy. Then I would also write about the places I want to go in the future. 

Summary: We worked on our soundtracks during class.

Reflection: I learned how to use my thoughts to be creative while analyzing a poem.

In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

  Prompt: I had experienced being an outsider when I transferred to a new school mid-year, where people already had their circle and routine. I felt like a stranger and as if I was intruding in a world with no room for me. That sense of isolation made it hard to connect with other individuals and encouraged me to retreat further. Eventually, though, a classmate of mine began including me in group activities and conversations, and this helped gradually to erode the wall of invisibility around me. As in The Interlopers, that change of heart from viewing others as strangers to viewing common humanity changed the emotional weather and allowed for the building of a new sense of community.
