Prompt Response:  My parents became more reasonable as I got older and chris seems to have gotten the opposite from his parents and if I was in his situation I would do the same thing with the no contact aspect of it, but I would not condemn society. Prompt Response:Jack londons writings depicted nature as adventurous and epic tales of survival and beauty. That is farther from the truth in alaska. Nature is unforgiving and brutal. McCandless had no idea what he was getting into and his depictions of his journey resulted in his death. Summary: Nature is not to be underestimated Reflection: we read chapter 5

Prompt Response:  the he Hardest object would be my phone and my bed. I couldn't imagine not getting good sleep and I would be very tired all of the time and wouldn't be able to function. I would keep a blanket and my pillow so I could get a decent nights sleep Summary: survival is important Reflection:  we read from the book

Prompt Response:   when people stay away from their normal routines they find themselves in a predicament where they can't get back to their normal routine so they get frustrated. what I would do in this situation is I would step back and take a break from my routine. Summary: we read from the book Reflection:  routines are very important.

Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not? Prompt Response:  My first impression of Chris McCandless was  that he was insane and very bold on burning all of his money and savings to go and live off the land in the Alaskan wilderness. He was knowledgeable about the area and how to successfully live off the land. What he didn't think of was asking someone who has lived off the land from scratch. I believe that if he had taken more into consideration then he wouldn't have died. Summary: we read into the wild Reflection:  reading about nonfiction is very interesting

  Prompt:  Today you worked on creating your  Vocabulary Digital Cards  in Adobe Express. In one well-developed paragraph, reflect on the assignment by explaining which vocabulary word was easiest for you to understand, which word was most challenging, and how creating your own sentence and selecting an image helped strengthen your understanding of the vocabulary. Use specific examples from your work.   Prompt Response:   The vocab word that was the easiest to understand was bumpkin because I used to hear that word used to describe people in movies that I watched when I was younger. A word  that was hard for me to understand was the word benign and it is because I have never seen that word used in a sentence.   Summary: Vocab is very important for communication. Reflection:  we worked on the vocab assignment.

Prompt Response:  I think that I need to work on think of more thing to idenitfy with other than a sport. The reason is because they're will come a time in my life where I will have to find another identity then an athlete. Prompt Response:  Metaphors are very hard to talk about especially with negative labels. I've experienced mean language used towards me and it made me reflect on how I treat others and I want to be treated. I need to be more creative when it comes to doing metaphors. I think I should take a break and refocus. Summary:we worked on our final draft today Reflection:   I need to work on identifying rhetorical devices.

What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language? Prompt Response:  Writing metaphors are harder to write than similes. I had to get more creative when coming up with new metaphors about myself. I learned that I need to be more open to new ideas about who I am and who I will be. Summary:we worked on a rhetorical analysis essay. Reflection: I need to get better at identifying rhetorical devices in literature.
