Prompt response: The word that i have heard movie 300 was vestige. The movie was about the Spartan war against Ceasar. The Spartans survived for a long time with only 300 soldiers against the powerful romans, but they ended up being overtaken by the romans and there was only a vestige of soldiers left.

Summary: We talked about the new vocabulary list.

Reflection: sometimes you don't even realize when you are learning new words. New words could be anywhere.

In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

  Prompt: I had experienced being an outsider when I transferred to a new school mid-year, where people already had their circle and routine. I felt like a stranger and as if I was intruding in a world with no room for me. That sense of isolation made it hard to connect with other individuals and encouraged me to retreat further. Eventually, though, a classmate of mine began including me in group activities and conversations, and this helped gradually to erode the wall of invisibility around me. As in The Interlopers, that change of heart from viewing others as strangers to viewing common humanity changed the emotional weather and allowed for the building of a new sense of community.
